I’ve never been one to shy away from talking about my personal life on the radio. Fact is, it’s impossible for me not to share the things that are happening in my life. Most of that is because I felt like I’ve grown up in front of a lot of you listeners. So last year when I set out on my #metallicadiet journey I was prepared to share all of it with you. Through out the course of those 9 months the paradigm of what I was dealing with shifted from weight loss to mental health. I talked about it a lot, because I was up against a lot of my own personal demons. As it turns out those demons were less demonic than I had thought, and the real enemy was my own preconceived notions about mental health. People have been asking me how I’m doing, well I’m doing pretty good.
It’s all a new frontier for me as I continue on my journey. Well what on Earth does that mean Big J? Truth is after stripping away my coping device I have been left here all on my own with those feelings. Anxiety, depression, happiness, loss, joy, and anger. The basic human feelings we all encounter that I had been shoving way off to the side. Dealing with all of those at times can be a struggle, and I am still learning how to deal in a healthy manner. Point being MENTAL HEALTH should be top of mind for each of us on a daily basis. Hence why I want to share this video with all of you. Disturbed’s latest single, A Reason To Fight, has a deep message that the band shares each time they get on stage. We’ll all get to see it in person on July 30th at Taco Bell Arena. So please take a moment and watch this video.
From the bottom of my heart, thanks to all the people who have played a part in my journey. That mean’s you dear X Listener/Reader.
