Shinedown is an American rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 2001 by vocalist Brent Smith following the dissolution of his previous band, Dreve. Smith, who remained under contract with Atlantic Records, assembled an initial line-up consisting of Jasin Todd on guitar, Brad Stewart on bass, and Barry Kerch on drums.
