Upon its 2014 release, The Balcony established Catfish and the Bottlemen as the UK’s preeminent band of the people, inheriting the torch for raggedly anthemic rock from fellow Welshmen Stereophonics. True to its title, The Balcony shoots for the next level: “Homesick” starts as front-porch folk before exploding into an arena-rattling chorus; the acoustic ballad “Hourglass” hits heavenly highs with choral harmonies.
