Each song is a smart spin on classic and contemporary pop trends: “Some Kinda Wonderful” has Spice Girls-era attitude, “Mama Say” is a breathy nod to Britney Spears, and “Pretend You’re Missing Me” whistles and drops with EDM flair à la Kiesza or Robyn.
