Drowning Pool has shared the new single, “The Wrong One,” created alongside fast-rising rock artist Sorry X.
Released through SBG Records and produced by Hiram Hernandez , the track also arrives with an official music video; check it out – HERE.
The partnership began after the band discovered Sorry X’s fierce online cover of their breakthrough hit, “Bodies.” Impressed by her vocal power, they decided to reach out. Says CJ Pierce: “We stumbled on Sorry X’s cover of ‘Bodies’ and were impressed by the sheer brutality of her vocals. On top of that, Alexa sings amazingly. We knew we had to collaborate on something so we reached out.”
Sorry X, a longtime fan of the group and the early-2000s nu-metal scene, welcomed the opportunity: “I’m a huge fan of Drowning Pool and I grew up listening to the 2000s nu-metal era, so I was stoked when they reached out to me. I’m really proud of how this track came together and I hope fans will feel the intensity and raw energy of this collaboration.”
The release of ‘The Wrong One’ follows a standout 2025 for the band. In March, Carrie Underwood joined an American Idol contestant for a performance of “Bodies,” and later in the year Offset sampled the track for his own single, even sharing the stage with Drowning Pool on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
