  • Life Lessons, Boise Bombers and Toys for Tots

Spencer, Jeff and Monica joined us in the studio this morning to chat about their big wheelchair rugby event taking place this weekend. It’s all to benefit Toys for Tots. Please, do what you can and check out this event. All the info is right here.

  • Camp Fred, Clue #3 and Mick Foley

Yesterday, Big J picked up a movie called “Fred 3: Camp Fred” from the ol’ Redbox for his weekly DVDumbass selection. Well, as expected, the movie was just awful. Instead of breaking a rule from the DVDumbass handbook and pressing stop, he forged on, but spent that time to e-mail, fbook, etc. That being said, you can skip “Fred 3: Camp Fred.”

  • DVDumbass, Clue #2 and The Cake Boss

During DVDumbass this week, Big J passed up on movies calles “V-H-S” and “The Occupant,” ending up with a high-quality film called “Fred 3: Camp Fred.” Tomorrow could bring quite possibly the most stellar movie review to date.

  • Face Punch Backfire, Clue #1 and Fred & Carrie of Portlandia

We unveiled the first clue for “Find Santa’s Sack” and you can check Big J’s desk off the list of possible destinations. Tune in tomorrow morning around 7:30A for your next clue.

  • Free X Concert Announcement, Toys For Tots and Cage Match Madness

The Marines stopped by this morning to chat Toys for Tots and how you can help make a difference for a child this year. It’s simple, just purchase a toy and drop it off at any donation location. Check for the boxes in front of any Treasure Valley Walmart, at tonight’s Idaho Stampede game or even right here at the station. There’s another Stampede game tomorrow night and if you bring by a toy, you will receive a free ticket to an upcoming game. So go out there and help out children in need this Holiday season. Your efforts make a difference.

  • Tech Tour, Pizza Perfume and Yelp Sued

Jack Black was hand-selected from a list of the “Top 10 Overpaid Actors" as today’s “Bad Impression.” That list also includes Eddie Murphy, Katherine Heigl, Reese Witherspoon, Sandra Bullock, Nicolas Cage, Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Denzel Washington and Sara Jessica Parker.

  • Stolen, Worst Wife Gifts and Find Santa's Sack

During this week’s installment of DVDumbass, Big J once again selected another winner with a movie called “Stolen” over “Hope Springs” and “Thunderstruck.” This movie features Nicolas Cage so it can’t be too awful right?! Find out during tomorrow’s show.

  • Important Stuff, BCS Busted and Pissed Pantera

A few bits of “Important Stuff” we learned this morning: there are talks of the government doing away with the dollar bill and transitioning over to dollar coins. For the record, Big J strongly supports this movement, while the rest of the country most likely will not. In entertainment news, the creator of Family Guy, Seth MacFarlane, will lend his voice to an upcoming episode of The Simpsons. After all the back and forth stabs at one another, it appears both sides are coming together to boost ratings for Fox in this interesting turn of events.

  • Big J's Life Lesson, Half the World and Toys for Tots

Big J taught us a little something today during this week’s “Life Lesson.” That is, to sometime relax and not always go with your first instinct. Last night before Thursday Night Football, he tried to make a last minute Fantasy Football lineup change, but it was too late as roster management was already locked. Well, turns out that the player who was locked up, actually performed better than the one he wanted to put in. There you have it. Sometimes it pays off to be patient and just let things happen.

  • Big J's Tech Tour, O-Face and Scoot McNairy

During this week’s “Tech Tour,” Big J brought two interesting items to our attention. First, a computer program called Random Shopper, which selects and purchases random gift using gift cards. Although it’s a unique idea, I’m not entirely sure that I’d want to end up giving someone a Hannah Montana DVD and book about bird watching as a gift. Next, we learned about a new Apple device called iTV ($100), which is an old school television antenna that plugs directly into your iPad and allows you to watch standard channels on your iPad’s screen. Now that’s something worth looking into.

  • Man of Steel, Headshot Review and Kim Jong-Onion

Today’s Bad Impression featured The Man of Steel. Why? Because there have been all kinds of rumores surround the new Superman film, including no red briefs as a part of his costume and even maybe an appearance from Batman to introduce the character for the upcoming Justice League movie. Just for the record, that means we will see a whole new Batman, a brand new Superman and all kinds of other characters. It should be interesting to see what unfolds.

  • DVDumbass, Dennis Christopher and Vial8

During Cage Match, we learned all about Big J’s hatred for the band name, Vial8 and how he can’t stand a number being used in place of a word. Speaking of Vial8, they knocked off Vayden today. But no worries, you will see much more of Vayden as our 2012 Cage Match Madness tournament starts next Monday, December 3rd.

  • Big J's Bag of Broken Chips, Jack Passion and Vayden's Memo

This week’s “Punch in the Face” went to Tostitos for two reasons. First, for the talking bag which Big J cannot stand and second, for still continuing to air election commercials weeks beyond the event. But thank you Tostitos for all the awesomeness that came from experiencing Boise State win two Tostitos Fiesta Bowls.

  • Big J's Life Lesson, Black Friday is Dumb and an X Session Weekend

Big J’s Life Lesson today was about how sometimes you have to make sacrifices and step up to the plate in life. On Wednesday, we had the band Halestorm come into the studio to do a station takeover. They are great people, Lzzy looked fantastic as always, but there was one thing missing. Radio’s Big J was busy doing family errands while the wife was at work, so he had to make the sacrifice. At the end of the day, family should always come first, folks.

  • Crooked Arrows, Rich Eisen and Happy Thanksgiving

Big J’s review of “Crooked Arrows” was, well, there wasn’t much to this movie. It was basically Mighty Ducks, but with high school lacrosse instead of hockey. Needless to say, it took a giant thumbs down from Big J. He did however pick up “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,” as well. This one was more on the Big J approved side of things, so go check that out instead.

  • DVDumbass, Free X Show and Song Fights

During this week’s installment of DVDumbass, Big J selected a movie called “Crooked Arrows” about a high school lacrosse team over “Little Bit of Faith” and “Two Days in New York.” Yes, Big J will be enjoying some high octane lacrosse action from the comfort of his own home later today. That should be an eventful review tomorrow.

  • Kellen Moore and Vayden

It's only Monday, but two very legendary events took place on the show today.

  • Big J's Life Lesson, Robert Irvine and Vayden

Big J’s Life Lesson is to choose your ringtone wisely and keep your phone on vibrate in certain public places. This lesson arises due to a recent situation where Big J was sitting in a waiting room and his ringtone blasted off about three times before he could get to it. You know, the whole awkward fumbling around of the phone while people are watching as you try to find the right buttons to shut the thing up. Now I will not confirm or deny if Big J’s ringtone is a One Direction song or not, but don’t forget to follow his advice next time you are customizing your phone and get stuck in a meeting or at the movie theatre.

  • Tech Tour Time, Toys for Tots and Jared Harris of Lincoln

During this week’s “Tech Tour,” Big J brought a pretty cool new smartphone app to our attention. The app, called Vapp, allows you to control your phone’s camera via voice commands. This would come in handy during those solo bathroom duck face shots or when trying to use the timer to take a group photo. The app basically allows you to scream a camera command at your phone without having to push buttons or awkwardly hold it.

  • Snakepits, Lizard Lick Towing and Pizza Slices

Headlines for this morning consisted of an Indianapolis man who full on crashed his vehicle into a house after downing five beers and munching on a slice of pizza while trying to drive. Upon smashing into the home, the owners came out and the driver’s response was, “you guys want a slice of pizza?” Only in America folks.
