Big J's punch in the face, Chili Cookoff recap
Big J’s punch in the face ends with a pat on the back. Appropriately, Big J’s punch in the face went to daylight savings. Twice a year, every year, we are forced to alter not only our clocks buts our body clocks in the name of gaining an hour of daylight. Benjamin Franklin gets the credit for this and for coming up with DST. “The basic idea is to make the best use of daylight hours by shifting the clock forward in the spring and backward in the fall,” he wrote. Well, maybe. Depends on how you feel about when you get your daylight. As for Big J, he likes his daylight to stay put and not be pushed or pulled by one hour. The good news this year: Rep Mike Moyle introduced House Bill 559 into the House on Wednesday. If passed, the Gem State would stay in the Mountain Standard Time zone year-round. Hats off and a big pat on the back to you Mr. Moyle. You have Big J’s support. You can read the full bill HERE.
Chili Cookoff recap…It came and it went. The Meridian Pipes and Drums Chili Cookoff took place Saturday and we have to say it was AWESOME. The environment was fun. The costumes and decorations were fun. The chili rocked. Although he did not bring home an award, Big J braved entering for the first time and prevailed with a delicious chili and lots of knowledge for next year. Yes, it will happen again next year. Look out Disaster Clean up, He’s comin for ya. If you have never seen the Meridian Pipes and Drums play, do yourselves a favor and check it out. It. Is. Awesome.
