Numbers Station, Dylan Caldwell and Song Fights

  • Print

Yesterday after the show, Big J took home a movie called “Numbers Station.” He compares the film to a “dark version of Grosse Pointe Blank, but without the humor.” “Numbers Station” was officially deemed not Big J approved as he says it’s a “tired, old idea” and “far-fetched,” but not far-fetched enough to be cool. He’s also punishing John Cusack for turning down the sequel to Hot Tub Time Machine.

A local race car driver by the name of Dylan Caldwell joined us in the studio this morning. He has a shot at racing on a national level, but needs your help! All you need to do is go to www.limitless40.com/, watch the video and cast your vote. If we get him over the top with voting, he’s on his way to Charlotte with a chance to race for Michael Waltrip on a national level.

With a few victories under their belt and courtesy of Big J’s tiebreaker, Love & Death’s streak came to a close today. Device moves on, but check out both songs below and decide for yourself. Tune in tomorrow for another song fight as Device looks to defend their title against a new challenger.

Nic - II    Big J - I

Monday - Happy Birthday Peter Loeffler! Hard to pick a favorite Chevelle song which is probably why there was a tie between Anj's choice of The Clincer and Big J's choice of Send the Pain Below. Tie it is.

Tuesday -  Songs that could use subtitles that make sense?  The tie goes to Nic with his choice of Pearl Jam Yellow Leadbetter although Big J's choice of Static X Cannibal was just as inaudiable.

Wednesday -  Happy Birthday Spike Jones!  Thank You for the awesome videos you gave us. Today's rock war ends in yet ANOTHER TIE.  Nic's choice of Tenacious D Wonderboy beats Big J's choice of Beastie Boys Sabotage.  Hard to chose for sure but somebody has to come out victorious.

Thursday -  Reality shows are everywhere!  What band would you tune in to watch week after week?  Big J wins with All that Remains Stand up beating Nic's Puddle of Mudd Give me Shelter choice.

Friday - In honor of Mark Zuckerberg delivering a speech in Chinese we will war with bilingual songs. Big J's Romstein America beats out  Nic's Beck Loser.
