Nature Calls, Lajon Witherspoon and Mad Season

  • Print

Yesterday, Big J selected a movie called “Nature Calls” during DVDumbass. Today, he brings you a full review of the film, which stars Johnny Knoxville, Patton Oswalt and Rob Riggle. Was that enough to make it Big J approved? Find out right here.

Lajon Witherspoon called into the show this morning. He sings in a little band we like to call Sevendust. The band has a new album out on March 26th and will be playing a show for us here in Boise just days before that on March 21st with Candlelight Red and Lacuna Coil. Right now the band is touring with Avatar and we asked Lajon about that experience and more right here

If you are not familiar with the band Mad Season, you should be. They were a Seattle supergroup consisting of the late Layne Staley of Alice in Chains, the late John Baker Saunders of The Walkabouts, Barrett Martin of The Screaming Trees and Mike McCready of Pearl Jam and Temple of the Dog. Well, we came across an unreleased track, Cage Matched it and then posted it online for all to check out. Keep in mind this track has Mark Lanegan of The Screaming Trees on vocals. The video below that is live footage from the 90’s with the one and only Layne Staley behind the mic. Here you go, friends.

Nic - II    Big J

Monday - Happy Birthday Peter Loeffler! Hard to pick a favorite Chevelle song which is probably why there was a tie between Anj's choice of The Clincer and Big J's choice of Send the Pain Below. Tie it is.

Tuesday -  Songs that could use subtitles that make sense?  The tie goes to Nic with his choice of Pearl Jam Yellow Leadbetter although Big J's choice of Static X Cannibal was just as inaudiable.

Wednesday -  Happy Birthday Spike Jones!  Thank You for the awesome videos you gave us. Today's rock war ends in yet ANOTHER TIE.  Nic's choice of Tenacious D Wonderboy beats Big J's choice of Beastie Boys Sabotage.  Hard to chose for sure but somebody has to come out victorious.

Thursday -  War with Rock

Friday -Rock War your ass into the weekend..!@
