Important Stuff, BCS Busted and Pissed Pantera

  • Print

A few bits of “Important Stuff” we learned this morning: there are talks of the government doing away with the dollar bill and transitioning over to dollar coins. For the record, Big J strongly supports this movement, while the rest of the country most likely will not. In entertainment news, the creator of Family Guy, Seth MacFarlane, will lend his voice to an upcoming episode of The Simpsons. After all the back and forth stabs at one another, it appears both sides are coming together to boost ratings for Fox in this interesting turn of events.

We already know about the boring Maaco Las Vegas Bowl matchup between your beloved Boise State Broncos and Washington Huskies, however the big story in college football news is that of Northern Illinois busting their way into a BCS bowl. The Northern Illinois Huskies will take on the Florida State Seminoles in the Orange Bowl on New Years Day. Last night on ESPN, all of the analysts were completely trashing the fact that Northern Illinois made it into a BCS bowl, while a few of their precious power conference teams did not. Georgia and Oklahoma both got booted from the BCS due to certain rules and regulations, which in turn created a rally cry from against the BCS system. My argument is this: where the bleep were all you “experts” and your strong opinions on the matter when Boise State was ranked higher than teams like Ohio State and Nebraska, but got shut out because the BCS wanted a team with a bigger name and higher dollar value attached to it. That’s right, you claimed the “little guy” doesn’t belong and that the BCS such a fair system, but now you're pissed because the chips did not unfold in your favor. I got my money on Northern Illinois. Bring one home for the underdogs!

During the opening match of Round 1 in Cage Match Madness, Wayne Static nearly pulled an epic comeback with a push of last minute voters. However, as expected, Pantera prevailed and will move on to Round 2, where they will face the winner of the #8 and #9 battle between Puscifer and In Flames. Check out the video for Panter's "Piss" below and tune in tomorrow during the 9 o’clock hour as #15 Papa Roach looks to upset #2 Avatar.
